How to play
- Pick a category from the main menu.
- Hold your phone sideways against your forehead, screen facing your friends. After a short countdown, a word appears.
- Your friends describe or act out the word without saying it, and you try to guess it.
- Got it? Tilt the screen down toward the floor. Want to pass? Tilt it up toward the ceiling. Bring the phone back upright before the next word.
- When time runs out, you'll see every word from the round and which ones you got.
Settings
Game mode. Tilt to progress uses the phone's motion sensors as described above. Tap to progress puts buttons on screen instead, which is handy on iPad or when someone else is holding the device.
Round duration. Choose 30, 60, 90, or 120 seconds.
Making your own categories
Open the category list to create a new category, or edit any built-in one: change its title, icon, and color, and add or remove words. Your changes are kept when the app updates its built-in categories, and you can tap Reset to Default to put a built-in category back the way it shipped.
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, tap Generate with AI to suggest new words for a category. Suggestions never repeat words already in the category or ones you've removed.
FAQ
Tilting doesn't do anything. After each word, bring the phone back upright (screen facing straight out) before tilting again. If it still doesn't respond, make sure Motion & Fitness access is allowed for Catch Up in Settings › Privacy & Security, or switch to Tap to progress in the app's settings.
I deleted a built-in category. Built-in categories you delete move to Hidden Categories in the category list, where you can restore them. Categories you created yourself are deleted for good.
Generate with AI isn't available. Generating words needs an iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. Right after you turn it on, the model may still be downloading; try again in a little while. Everything else in the app works without it.
Requirements
iPhone or iPad running iOS 26.7 or later. Generating words with AI additionally requires a device that supports Apple Intelligence.
Privacy
