Pretty Protein for iPhone · Effective October 2026 (updated October 20, 2026)

Pretty Protein does not collect, store, or share any personal information. I, the developer, never receive anything you enter into the app.

What the app stores

The foods, recipes, water, and weigh-ins you log, and your goals, unit preferences, and reminder settings, are saved only on your device. None of this is sent to me or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes it, except for anything you've chosen to save to Apple Health.

Apple Health

If you connect Apple Health, Pretty Protein reads and writes one type of data: your body weight. It saves the weigh-ins you log to Health, and reads weigh-ins from Health, including ones recorded by smart scales and other apps, to show them on your weight chart. Pretty Protein reads and writes nothing else in Health.

Health data is used only to show and keep your weight history in the app. It is never sent to me, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising, marketing, or data mining. You can turn off access at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Pretty Protein.

Camera and photos

If you allow it, Pretty Protein uses the camera to read the numbers on a nutrition label. You can also pick a photo of a label from your library; the app sees only the photo you choose. Text recognition runs entirely on your device. The image is used on the spot to read the numbers and is not saved or sent anywhere. You can change camera access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera.

Meal estimates with Apple Intelligence

When you tap Estimate the numbers, the food's name, its serving size, and any numbers you've already entered are sent to Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which processes the request on Apple servers without storing it or making it accessible to Apple. Nothing is sent to me. Estimates are only requested when you tap the button, never while you type. Learn more in Apple's Privacy Policy.

Reminders and notifications

Reminders are off unless you turn them on, and Pretty Protein asks for permission to send notifications only when you do. Reminders are local notifications: the app writes and schedules them on your device, using what you've logged today, and no push service or server of mine is involved. A reminder's text can include progress such as how much protein or how many calories are left today, which may appear on your Lock Screen. You can change or turn off reminders in the app, or turn off notifications in Settings › Notifications › Pretty Protein.

What the app doesn't do

Not medical advice

Pretty Protein is a logging tool. Its numbers, including estimates and goal projections, are approximate and are not medical or nutritional advice.

Children

Because Pretty Protein collects no personal information, it collects none from children.
